Story time!!

During my first week of ministry, I met the sweetest girl, who quickly became one of my bestest little friends. She ran up to me, jumping for me to catch her, smile beaming from ear to ear. I noticed that her 2 front teeth had decayed and left a hole in her smile. When she caught my gaze peering into her mouth she closed her lips and felt embarrassed. I spin her around in my arms as I prayed and asked God if there was any way to fix her smile, to match her beautiful joyful energy.

This past week a team came from the States, and partnered with local Guate dentists to run 2 days of free clinics for the community. I had the privilege of holding my sweet friend’s hand as she bravely got the cavities not only filled, but the dentist went the extra mile to transform the black hole into pearly whites. She did not shed a tear through the entire procedure, but I could not keep the tears from streaming down my own face as I watched the prayer that was murmured under my breath answered right before my eyes.

God reminded me how He hears every prayer, and I am so thankful to know a God who cares so intimately about each of His children. I am well aware that this is only a temporary fix on a baby tooth that will soon fall out and be forgotten, but I hope to never forget how God does not just make a beautiful smile, but brings everlasting joy!

More blogs to come soon as so much happens every day!!

A few updates:

Thank you all for prayers over Dorthea (the sick older lady I mentioned in my previous blog and over Instagram stories) and her family. Last week we were able to spend intentional time praying and worshiping with her before she went to be with Jesus this past Sunday. Thank you for your continued prayers for their family.

Another update! My team member Ruth has decided to go back home with her family. I ask for prayers for her as she steps into this new season, and for our team as we process through what God has for us as now a team of 4!

Thank you all for keeping me in your prayers and joining me in interceding for everyone we are meeting here in San Antonio. I can not believe that we only have 2 more weeks here, but I ask for prayers so that we can continue to press into all that God has called us to.

Please comment on how I can be praying for you or just to let me know your thoughts! I love hearing from all of you! It is such an encouragement on the hard days knowing that I have friends and family back home supporting me!

Love you all!!

  4. Sorry I push submit before I was finished, What an encouragement on that little girls teeth.
That he wants our lives to be filled with the fullness of his love and power. But he wants our highest good that we would thrive in flourish like when he says in John chapter 10, “I’ve come that you might have life and have it more abundantly or to the full. “

What a good God. Will definitely be praying for your squad and for Ruth, that she continue to journey well with Jesus as she heads back home.
